SENATE BILL NO. 511
BY SENATOR JACKSON 
STREAMLINING GOVERNMENT. Provides relative to the membership of the
Commission on Streamlining Government. (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 24:103(D)(10) and (11), relative to the Commission on Streamlining2
Government; to provide for the membership of the commission; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 24:103(D)(10) and (11) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง103.  Commission on Streamlining Government; established7

D. The commission shall be composed as follows:9

(10)  The members of the Committee on Senate and Governmental Affairs.11
(11)  The members of the Committee on House and Governmental Affairs.12

DIGEST
Present law establishes and provides for the Commission on Streamlining Government.
Provides that the membership of the commission shall include:
(1) The commissioner of administration, or her designee.
(2) The House speaker, or his designee.
(3) The Senate president, or his designee.
(4) The state treasurer, or his designee.
(5) The chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, or his designee.
(6) The chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, or his designee.
(7) Two individuals engaged in private enterprise, appointed by the governor, which
individuals shall be subject to Senate confirmation.
(8) One individual engaged in private enterprise, appointed by the House speaker.
(9) One individual selected from a list of three individuals nominated by the AFL/CIO,
and appointed by the Senate president, which individual shall be subject to Senate
confirmation.
Proposed law retains present law but provides that the commission shall also include:
(1)The members of the Committee on Senate and Governmental Affairs.
(2)The members of the Committee on House and Governmental Affairs.
Effective August 15, 2010.
