EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS. Revises the Louisiana Homeland Security and
Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act. (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 29:725.6(B)(6)(a),(b) and (c), relative to homeland security and2
emergency preparedness; to provide for annual reports from the Unified Command3
Group's three permanent subcommittees to the UCG and the governor; and to4
provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 29:725.6(B)(6)(a), (b) and (c) are hereby amended and reenacted to7
read as follows: 8

B.(6)(a)(ii) The roles, duties, and activities of the subcommittee shall include, but are11
not limited to:12

first and July first of each year which includes a copy of the current or revised statewide15
communications interoperability plan for first responders.16

Present law, relative to the Unified Command Group (UCG), requires the three permanent
subcommittees of the UCG, comprised of the "interoperability subcommittee," the "first
responders subcommittee," and the "regional parish OEP parish directors subcommittee,"
to submit a semi-annual report to the governor and the UCG by January first and July first
of each year.
Proposed law requires the three permanent subcommittees of the UCG to submit an annual
report to the governor and the UCG instead of a semi-annual report.
Effective August 15, 2010.
