S. 56:109(C) and to enact R.S. 56:1691, relative to possession of2 firearms; to allow the possession of firearms on certain state lands; to provide terms3 and conditions; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 56:109(C) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S. 56:1691 is6 hereby enacted to read as follows:7 §109. Wildlife management areas; wildlife refuges; public hunting grounds and8 recreation areas; notice; signs; disabled hunters9 * * *10 C. No person shall knowingly take, attempt to take, disturb, or destroy any11 wild bird or wild quadruped or the nest, egg, or young thereof on lands set apart as12 wildlife management areas and wildlife refuges, or have in his possession or keep,13 while on the lands, any firearm, trap, snare, or other device capable of being used in14 the taking or disturbance of the birds or quadrupeds on such areas, unless the person15 previously has been expressly authorized by a permit from the department to do so16 and only for the purpose and under the conditions specified in the permit.17 * * *18 §1691.
