NURSING HOMES.  Makes changes to the nursing home reimbursement methodology.

AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 46:2742(D), relative to the nursing home reimbursement methodology; to2
provide for certain monies collected by the Department of Health and Hospitals to3
be deposited into the Medicaid Trust Fund for the Elderly; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 46:2742(D) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7

D. The state portion of the amounts collected by the Department of10
Health and Hospitals pertaining to the difference between the direct care11
spending floor, as defined in Paragraph (B)(2) of this Section, and the actual12
amounts expended by the nursing homes on direct care and care related costs,13
as determined by the Department of Health and Hospitals, shall be deposited14
into the Medicaid Trust Fund for the Elderly.15 SB NO. 563

Proposed law provides that the state portion of the amounts collected by DHH pertaining to
the difference between the direct care spending floor, as defined in present law, and the
actual amounts expended by the nursing homes on direct care and care related costs, as
determined by DHH, shall be deposited into the Medicaid Trust Fund for the Elderly.
Effective August 15, 2010.
