(8/15/10) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 13:918, relative to clerks of court; to provide for the duties of clerks of court;2 to provide for the disbursement of funds in the registry of the court; to provide for3 accrued interest; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 13:918 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง918. Disbursement of funds7 After the clerk of court receives a copy of an order authorizing8 disbursement of funds located in the registry of the court, the clerk within9 fifteen business days shall disburse the funds by check, payable to each entity10 or person entitled to the funds. Proposed law provides that a person shall be entitled to receive accrued interest if the clerk of court fails to disburse the funds within the required time period. Effective August 15, 2010.
