AN ACT1
To request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasibility of a2
West Bank Turnpike; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. The Department of Transportation and Development may study the5
feasibility of a West Bank Turnpike generally on the westbank of the Mississippi River6
beginning near the intersection of LA 1 and Interstate 10 near Port Allen, West Baton7
Rouge Parish, Louisiana, and continuing generally south and east adjacent to or along8
LA 1 and LA 3127 through West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Assumption, Ascension, St.9
James, St. John, and St. Charles parishes, and terminating near the intersection of LA10
3127 and Interstate 310 near Boutte, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, and including a11
connection generally adjacent to or along LA 70 between Donaldsonville, Louisiana,12
across the Sunshine Bridge, and its intersection with Interstate 10 near Gonzales,13
Louisiana.14
Section 2.  The legislature urges the Department of Transportation and15
Development to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations on the16
feasibility of the West Bank Turnpike to the House and Senate Committees on17

Transportation, Highways, and Public Works not later than sixty days prior to the1
beginning of the 2011 Regular Session.2
