Regular Session, 2010 SENATE BILL NO. 701 BY SENATOR MARIONNEAUX STUDENTS. Provides relative to options available to certain high school dropouts pursuant to court order. (8/15/10) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 17:221.4(C) and (D), relative to education; to provide relative to options2 available to certain high school dropouts pursuant to court order; and to provide for3 related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 17:221.4(C) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง221.4. Dropout prevention and recovery program7 * * *8 C. States Armed Forces, with a commitment for at least two years of service, and1 earn a high school equivalency diploma during such service period.2 D. The provisions of Subsection C of this Section shall only apply to3 students who have been ruled to be truants, pursuant to the provisions of4 Chapter 15 of Title VII of the Louisiana Children's Code, by a court of5 competent jurisdiction and ordered by the court to comply with the provisions6 thereof. 7 The original instrument was prepared by Heyward Jeffers.
