AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 42:1158(A)(2)(d) and to enact R.S. 42:1158(A)(2)(e), relative2
to the Board of Ethics Computerized Data Management System; to require that3
certain financial disclosure reports required to be filed electronically with the board4
are able to be searched by the public by the names of campaign contributors; to5
require the Board of Ethics Computerized Data Management System to be designed6
to permit a person to view certain reports; and to provide for related matters.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. R.S. 42:1158(A)(2)(d) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.9
42:1158(A)(2)(e) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 10
ยง1158.  Board of Ethics Computerized Data Management System; purpose; goals11

(2)  The following basic specifications shall be designed into the board's13
computerized data management system:14

(d) The system's data base database shall be categorized to provide for16
citizen's access of all reports filed with the board.  This access shall include, but not17
be limited to, the ability of the public to search by contributor names the18
system's database of campaign finance disclosure reports that are required to19
be filed electronically by R.S. 18:1485 and R.S. 42:1125.20
(e) The system shall provide a person viewing campaign finance reports21
filed electronically by a candidate pursuant to R.S. 18:1485 with a link to all22
reports filed pursuant to R.S. 42:1124.6 in which the candidate is listed.23

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not1
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature2
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If3
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become4
effective on the day following such approval.5
