TRANSPORTATION/DEV DEPT. Provides that the chairman of the Senate Committee on
Transportation, Highways and Public Works shall serve as chairman of the board of the
Louisiana Transportation Authority.
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 48:2074 (D)(2) and (7), relative to the Louisiana Transportation2
Authority; to provide that the chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation,3
Highways and Public Works is chairman of the board; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 48:2074 (D)(2) and (7) are hereby amended and reenacted to read7
as follows: 8
ยง2074. Louisiana Transportation Authority; creation; board of directors; meetings;9
quorum10

D. The board shall be composed of nine directors who shall be the governing12
body of the authority with full power to promulgate rules and regulations for the13
maintenance and operation of said authority, subject to the approval of the House and14
Senate Committees on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, as follows:15

Public Works Committee or his designee, who shall serve as chairman of the4

DIGEST
Present law provides that the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and
Development or his designee is chairman of the board of directors of the Louisiana
Transportation Authority.
Proposed law changes present law to provide that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on
Transportation, Highways and Public Works, or his designee, is chairman of the board of
directors of the Louisiana Transportation Authority.
