Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 104 BY SENATOR ERDEY A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasability of widening Florida Boulevard to six travel lanes with shoulders from downtown Baton Rouge to the town of Livingston in East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes and to design and implement the use of "reversible" traffic lanes to relieve congestion and enhance traffic movements during peak traffic commuter hours. WHEREAS, widening Florida Boulevard to six travel lanes with shoulders from downtown Baton Rouge to the town of Livingston would facilitate traffic movement and relieve traffic congestion; and WHEREAS, implementation of "reversible" lanes on a six lane Florida Boulevard would further improve traffic congestion and traffic movements between the parishes of East Baton Rouge and Livingston during peak traffic commuter hours on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. in the morning and between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the evening; and WHEREAS, implementation of "reversible" lanes on a six lane Florida Boulevard would remove certain commuter traffic from Interstate 12 and facilitate traffic movement as well as reduce congestion on Interstate 12 during peak traffic commuter hours. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasability of widening Florida Boulevard to six travel lanes with shoulders from downtown Baton Rouge to the town of Livingston in East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes.
