SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 35

TRANSPORTATION/DEV DEPT. Requests the Department of Transportation and
Development study the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in
Natchitoches Parish.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development study the feasibility2
of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish.3
WHEREAS, traffic flow, economic development, and public safety are but a few of4
the vital issues a second bridge across the Red River would effectively address; and5
WHEREAS, the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury through a resolution has formally6
requested the state of Louisiana take the necessary steps in making a second bridge become7
a reality; and8
WHEREAS, for Natchitoches Parish to reach its full potential as an economic hub9
of northwest Louisiana, a study on the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the10
Red River in Natchitoches Parish needs to begin at the Department of Transportation and11
Development.12
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby13
urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development study the feasibility14
of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish.15
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the16
Department of Transportation and Development and the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury.17 SCR NO. 35
