SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 35

TRANSPORTATION/DEV DEPT. Requests the Department of Transportation and
Development to study the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River
in Natchitoches Parish.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the2
feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches3
Parish.4
WHEREAS, traffic flow, economic development, and public safety are but a few of5
the vital issues a second bridge across the Red River would effectively address; and6
WHEREAS, the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury through a resolution has formally7
requested the state of Louisiana to take the necessary steps in making a second bridge8
become a reality; and9
WHEREAS, in order for Natchitoches Parish to reach its full potential as an10
economic hub of northwest Louisiana, a study of the feasibility of constructing a second11
bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish must begin at the Department of12
Transportation and Development.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14
urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasibility15
of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish.16
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the17
Department of Transportation and Development and the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury.18 SCR NO. 35
