Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 35 BY SENATOR LONG A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish. WHEREAS, traffic flow, economic development, and public safety are but a few of the vital issues a second bridge across the Red River would effectively address; and WHEREAS, the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury through a resolution has formally requested the state of Louisiana to take the necessary steps in making a second bridge become a reality; and WHEREAS, in order for Natchitoches Parish to reach its full potential as an economic hub of northwest Louisiana, a study of the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish must begin at the Department of Transportation and Development. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study the feasibility of constructing a second bridge across the Red River in Natchitoches Parish. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Department of Transportation and Development and the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury.
