SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 168
BY SENATOR CROWE 
LEGIS POWERS/FUNCTIONS.  Requests the Louisiana Recovery Authority to reimburse
the extraordinary expenses incurred by Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., related to its clean-up and
recovery in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
A RESOLUTION1
To urge and request Louisiana Recovery Authority to reimburse the extraordinary expenses2
incurred by Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., related to its clean-up and recovery in the3
aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.4
WHEREAS, Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., of Empire, Louisiana, is one of lower5
Plaquemines Parish's largest manufacturers, as well as an important corporate citizen; and6
WHEREAS, while hurricanes Katrina and Rita severely damaged Daybrook's7
facilities and destroyed the surrounding communities and infrastructure, Daybrook8
immediately began the process of caring for its employees, cleaning up debris and rebuilding9
its facilities; and10
WHEREAS, since 2005, Daybrook has reinvested over fifty million dollars in11
rebuilding its operations; and12
WHEREAS, Daybrook has tripled its pre-Katrina employment and has an annual13
payroll exceeding ten million dollars; and14
WHEREAS, as a result of damages directly related to hurricanes Katrina and Rita,15
Daybrook has incurred over seventeen million dollars in uninsured losses and over twelve16
million dollars in uninsured lost revenue.17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana18 SR NO. 168

does hereby urge and request Louisiana Recovery Authority to reimburse the extraordinary1
expenses incurred by Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., related to its clean-up and recovery in the2
aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.3
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to4
Robin Keegan, executive director of the Louisiana Recovery Authority, and Gregory F. Holt,5
president and chief executive officer of Daybrook Industries, Inc.6
