Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 168 BY SENATOR CROWE A RESOLUTION To urge and request Louisiana Recovery Authority to reimburse the extraordinary expenses incurred by Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., related to its clean-up and recovery in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. WHEREAS, Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., of Empire, Louisiana, is one of lower Plaquemines Parish's largest manufacturers, as well as an important corporate citizen; and WHEREAS, while hurricanes Katrina and Rita severely damaged Daybrook's facilities and destroyed the surrounding communities and infrastructure, Daybrook immediately began the process of caring for its employees, cleaning up debris and rebuilding its facilities; and WHEREAS, since 2005, Daybrook has reinvested over fifty million dollars in rebuilding its operations; and WHEREAS, Daybrook has tripled its pre-Katrina employment and has an annual payroll exceeding ten million dollars; and WHEREAS, as a result of damages directly related to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Daybrook has incurred over seventeen million dollars in uninsured losses and over twelve million dollars in uninsured lost revenue. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request Louisiana Recovery Authority to reimburse the extraordinary expenses incurred by Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., related to its clean-up and recovery in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Robin Keegan, executive director of the Louisiana Recovery Authority, and Gregory F. Holt, president and chief executive officer of Daybrook Industries, Inc. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
