SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 173

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, Louisiana,
for being the recipient of the Silver Level 2009 Louisiana Hospital Quality Award and also
the 2010 Distinguished Partners in Education award.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Beauregard Memorial Hospital and its administration and staff on being the2
recipient of the Silver Level 2009 Louisiana Hospital Quality Award and of a3
Distinguished Partners in Education Award.4
WHEREAS, Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, Louisiana, has received5
the Silver Level 2009 Louisiana Hospital Quality Award, presented by eQHealth Solutions,6
the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Louisiana; and7
WHEREAS, the Hospital Quality Award honors Louisiana hospitals that successfully8
implement quality initiatives directed toward improving patient care in the hospital setting9
recognizing those facilities that are actively engaged in improving care in one or more of the10
following areas: acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, pneumonia, and11
surgical care; and12
WHEREAS, the clinical topics measured for the awards have been designated as13
national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and staff14
members from Beauregard Memorial Hospital have been working with quality improvement15
specialists from eQHealth Solutions to use proven, evidence-based practices to improve care16
for their patients; and17
WHEREAS, the award recognized that the medical staff and the entire health care18 SR NO. 173

team at Beauregard Memorial Hospital is dedicated to providing the very best in patient care1
and their efforts; and2
WHEREAS, Beauregard Memorial Hospital also received a Distinguished Partners3
in Education Award from the Louisiana Department of Education, an award first presented4
in 1991, made to a select number of businesses, industries, associations, or individuals that5
have made significant contributions to education in Louisiana.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana7
does hereby commend Beauregard Memorial Hospital and its administration and staff on8
being the recipient of the Silver Level 2009 Louisiana Hospital Quality Award and of a9
Distinguished Partners in Education Award.10
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to11
Beauregard Memorial Hospital, through its chief executive officer, Ted Badger, FACHE.12
