SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its
outstanding achievements and designates Tuesday, April 13, 2010, as "Louisiana Physical
Therapy Association Day."
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its outstanding achievements2
and to designate Tuesday, April 13, 2010, as Louisiana Physical Therapy Association3
Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.4
WHEREAS, the mission of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association, the5
principal membership organization in Louisiana representing and promoting the profession6
of physical therapy, is to enhance the physical health and functional abilities of members of7
the public and to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of8
movement dysfunctions and neuromusculoskeletal conditions; and9
WHEREAS, the vision statement of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association is10
that the association will advocate that physical therapy become the public's choice for the11
diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions and movement12
dysfunctions by expanding membership and enhancing participation in legislative13
policymaking to achieve greater influence in health care delivery issues; and14
WHEREAS, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants consistently aspire15
to and wisely apply the principles of altruism, excellence, caring, ethics, respect,16
communication, and accountability, and they work together with other professionals to17
achieve optimal health and wellness in individuals and communities; and18 SR NO. 18

WHEREAS, the dedication of the men and women of the Louisiana Physical Therapy1
Association has made a significant and positive difference in communities throughout the2
state; and3
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association is sponsoring its annual4
legislative day at the capitol on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, and its members merit a special5
measure of commendation.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana7
does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for their8
outstanding achievements, does hereby recognize and record for posterity their unwavering9
commitment to excellence in serving the state's citizens, does hereby extend enduring10
appreciation for the pride and honor they bring to the state of Louisiana, and does hereby11
designate Tuesday, April 13, 2010, as Louisiana Physical Therapy Association Day at the12
Louisiana State Capitol.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the14
president of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association.15
