SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58
BY SENATOR BROOME 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends LSU gymnast Susan Jackson on her third NCAA
National Championship title and on being named Gymnast of the Year.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Susan Jackson, LSU gymnast, on her third NCAA National Championship title2
and on being named Gymnast of the Year.3
WHEREAS, gymnast Susan Jackson of Louisiana State University and Agricultural4
and Mechanical College won her third NCAA National Championship title and was named5
Gymnast of the Year on Saturday, April 24, 2010, in Gainesville, Florida; and6
WHEREAS, Jackson won the national title in the balance beam competition with a7
score of 9.9625; and8
WHEREAS, on Thursday, April 22, 2010, the LSU gymnast won the NCAA national9
championship in the individual all-around competition with a score of 39.625; and10
WHEREAS, only twelve teams qualify for this national competition; and11
WHEREAS, Jackson has garnered three NCAA individual national championship12
titles, having won the NCAA vault national title in 2008; and13
WHEREAS, Jackson has won more individual national championships than any14
gymnast in LSU history; and15
WHEREAS, Jackson, a senior from Spring, Texas, is majoring in Mass16
Communication. 17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana18 SR NO. 58

does hereby commend Susan Jackson, LSU gymnast, on her third NCAA National1
Championship title and being named Gymnast of the Year.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Susan3
Jackson and Louisiana State University.4
