ACT No. 17 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE BILL NO. 23 BY REPRESENTATIVE WOOTON AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 14:90(B), relative to provisions of Title 14 (Louisiana Criminal2 Code) of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 which are limited in applicability3 to certain political subdivisions or local areas based upon population classifications;4 to adjust population categories to retain applicability; and to provide for related5 matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 14:90(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง90. Gambling9 * * *10 B. The conducting, or directly assisting in the conducting, as a business, of11 any game, contest, lottery, or contrivance on board a commercial cruiseship used for12 the international carriage of passengers whereby a person risks the loss of anything13 of value in order to realize a profit is not gambling and shall not be suppressed by14 any law enforcement officer of the state of Louisiana or any of its political15 subdivisions.
