welcomes him to La.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Croix Sather upon his Run Across America and to welcome him to the state2
of Louisiana.3
WHEREAS, upon the occasion of his visit to Louisiana while on his Run Across4
America, the citizens of the state are pleased to recognize and welcome Croix Sather; and5
WHEREAS, Croix Sather is in the process of running three thousand one hundred6
miles – more than thirty miles a day for one hundred consecutive days; and 7
WHEREAS, this unique journey commenced on February 26, 2011, in San Diego,8
California, and will conclude in New York City in June of 2011; and9
WHEREAS, Run Across America is designed to inspire people to rise up and10
demand an extraordinary life; and11
WHEREAS, at the age of fourteen, Mr. Sather was severely injured when hit by a12
drunk driver while riding his bike, and against all odds, he recovered and is now not only an13
elite athlete but an inspiration to countless people around the world; and 14
WHEREAS, Mr. Sather's pledge to Dream Big, Act Big positively portrays the spirit15
of hope and change that is embodied by Mr. Sather and which is being celebrated throughout16
today's Louisiana; and17
WHEREAS, Run Across America is taking Mr. Sather not only through the18
Shreveport-Bossier area of Louisiana but to the Louisiana State Capitol; and 19 HLS 111ES-304 ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, Croix Sather merits a special measure of commendation upon his1
outstanding accomplishments as he is welcomed with the utmost admiration and respect to2
the state of Louisiana.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby4
commend Croix Sather upon his Run Across America, does hereby welcome him to5
Louisiana, does hereby express to him enduring appreciation for the tremendous joy, pride,6
and honor that he brings to the state with his visit, and does hereby extend to him best wishes7
for continued success and happiness in his future endeavors.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted9
to Croix Sather.10
