Louisiana.4
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Rabbit Hunters Association was formed in May, 2010,5

their passion of hunting for rabbits and squirrel; and8
WHEREAS, in the spring of 2010, the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission was9
considering action that would have extended the deer season into February, a month10
traditionally reserved for small game hunting of rabbits and squirrel; and11
WHEREAS, at the time, there was no organized group who could or would articulate12
the concerns and perspective of rabbit and squirrel hunters; who could tell the commission13
what the impact of extending deer season would be on that segment of the hunting public;14
and15
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Rabbit Hunters Association was formed by a small group16
of hunters to be the voice of rabbit hunters all over the state and has successfully articulated17
their position relative to the protection and preservation of rabbit season before the18
commission; and19 HLS 111ES-387	ORIGINAL
