COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Zwolle High School Hawks boys' basketball team
upon winning the Class B state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Zwolle High School boys' basketball team upon winning the Class B state2
championship.3
WHEREAS, the Zwolle High School boys' basketball team completed a sensational4
season, earning the title of 2011 Class B state champions after defeating Rapides High5
School by a score of 60-51 to win the thrilling state championship game at the Cajundome6
at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and7
WHEREAS, the historic victory was the thirteenth state basketball championship for8
the Hawks and was the culmination of an unforgettable season; and9
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence10
throughout the 2010-2011 season and playoffs, and each of these great Hawks deserves11
recognition for his vital contribution to the winning effort; and12
WHEREAS, the Hawks' teammate, Marvin Frazier, Jr., was named the Outstanding13
Player of the championship game; and14
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved15
without the guidance and skills of head coach Bradley McLaren as well as all of the other16
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's basketball program; and17
WHEREAS, all Zwolle High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride18
and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.19
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the20
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Zwolle High School boys' basketball21 HLS 111ES-139 ORIGINAL

team upon winning the 2011 Class B state championship and does hereby extend best wishes1
to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine basketball program as they2
celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.3
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted4
to Coach Bradley McLaren.5
