HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 7
BY REPRESENTATIVE HOWARD
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Zwolle High School boys' basketball team upon winning the Class B state
championship.
WHEREAS, the Zwolle High School boys' basketball team completed a sensational
season, earning the title of 2011 Class B state champions after defeating Rapides High
School by a score of 60-51 to win the thrilling state championship game at the Cajundome
at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and
WHEREAS, the historic victory was the thirteenth state basketball championship for
the Hawks and was the culmination of an unforgettable season; and
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
throughout the 2010-2011 season and playoffs, and each of these great Hawks deserves
recognition for his vital contribution to the winning effort; and
WHEREAS, the Hawks' teammate, Marvin Frazier, Jr., was named the Outstanding
Player of the championship game; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of head coach Bradley McLaren as well as all of the other
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's basketball program; and
WHEREAS, all Zwolle High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride
and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Zwolle High School boys' basketball
team upon winning the 2011 Class B state championship and does hereby extend best wishes
to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine basketball program as they
celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future. ENROLLED HR NO. 7

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Coach Bradley McLaren.
