COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Pleasant Hill High School Eagles boys' basketball
team upon winning the Class C state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Pleasant Hill High School boys' basketball team upon winning the 20112
Class C state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hill High School boys' basketball team completed a4
sensational season, earning the title of 2011 Class C state champions after defeating Family5
Christian Academy by a score of 79-61 to win the thrilling state championship game at the6
Cajundome at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and7
WHEREAS, the historic victory marked the Eagles' fourth consecutive trip to the8
Top 28 and second straight trip to the Class C title game and was the culmination of an9
unforgettable season; and10
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence11
throughout the 2010-2011 season and playoffs, and each of these great Eagles deserves12
recognition for his vital contribution to the winning effort; and13
WHEREAS, the Eagles were led in their win by teammate Jacorius Turner, who was14
named the Outstanding Player of the championship game; and15
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved16
without the guidance and skills of head coach Brian D. Williams as well as all of the other17
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's basketball program; and18
WHEREAS, all Pleasant Hill High School alumni and fans recognize the immense19
pride and distinguished honor that the Eagles' team brings to its school, community, and20

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the1
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Pleasant Hill High School boys'2
basketball team upon winning the 2011 Class C state championship and does hereby extend3
best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine basketball program4
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.5
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted6
to Brian D. Williams, head coach of the Pleasant Hill High School boys' basketball team.7
