House of Representatives upon the death of Mr. O'Neal Parker A RESOLUTION1 To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Mr. O'Neal2 Parker.3 WHEREAS, on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, the citizens of this state lost one of4 its beloved citizens, Mr. O'Neal Parker.5 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Neal Parker had attained an honorable age of 87, before being6 called home; and7 WHEREAS, Mr. Parker was a charter member and deacon of the Homewood Baptist8 Church and associate member of the Lahey Chapel United Methodist Church; and9 WHEREAS, Mr. Parker retired from the city of Alexandria in 1975, after providing10 his services to the city for an honorable 32 years, but would work for another 34 years for11 the Louisiana Public Service Commission; and12 WHEREAS, he was active in community affairs and politics and would devote his13 life to others, lending a helping hand whenever possible; and14 WHEREAS, an avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Parker would continue this passion15 until just a few weeks before his passing, bagging a deer just weeks before his death; and16 WHEREAS, his passing will create a void in the hearts of many who will cherish his17 memory, including a loving wife of over 66 years, Mrs. Duryal St. Andre Parker.18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the19 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr.20 O'Neal Parker.21 HLS 111ES-108 ORIGINAL HR NO. 9 Page 2 of 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted1 to the family of Mr. O'Neal Parker.2 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
