ENROLLED Page 1 of 1 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 9 BY REPRESENTATIVE ROY A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Mr. O'Neal Parker. WHEREAS, on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, the citizens of this state lost one of its beloved citizens, Mr. O'Neal Parker. WHEREAS, Mr. O'Neal Parker had attained an honorable age of 87, before being called home; and WHEREAS, Mr. Parker was a charter member and deacon of the Homewood Baptist Church and associate member of the Lahey Chapel United Methodist Church; and WHEREAS, Mr. Parker retired from the city of Alexandria in 1975, after providing his services to the city for an honorable 32 years, but would work for another 34 years for the Louisiana Public Service Commission; and WHEREAS, he was active in community affairs and politics and would devote his life to others, lending a helping hand whenever possible; and WHEREAS, an avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Parker would continue this passion until just a few weeks before his passing, bagging a deer just weeks before his death; and WHEREAS, his passing will create a void in the hearts of many who will cherish his memory, including a loving wife of over 66 years, Mrs. Duryal St. Andre Parker. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. O'Neal Parker.
