HOUSE BILL NO. 327

AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:2740.46(B)(2), relative to the city of Alexandria; to provide2
relative to the Alexandria Central Economic Development District; to extend the3
boundaries of the district; and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published5
as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of6
Louisiana.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. R.S. 33:2740.46(B)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as9
follows: 10

(2)(a) The district shall be coterminous with House of Representatives15
District No. 26 as such House of Representatives district may be established from16
time to time by legislative or judicial action; however, the district shall include only17
that area of House District No. 26 which is within the municipal boundaries of the18
city of Alexandria.19
(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subparagraph (a) of this Paragraph,20
the boundaries of the district shall also include the area described as follows:  That21
certain tract, piece or parcel of land, containing 10.602 acres, more or less, together22
with all buildings and improvements situated thereon, located in section 4, Township23
3 North, Range 1 West, City of Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, being tract24
shown on a survey by Monceaux Buller & Associates, LLC, dated 1-04-06, being25
more particularly described with reference to said survey as follows, to wit:26 ENROLLEDHB NO. 327

The POINT OF BEGINNING being a one half inch iron rod and located at the1
intersection of the northerly edge of the right-of way for Horseshoe Drive and the2
westerly edge of the right-of-way for U.S. Highway 165. From Point Of Beginning3
proceed thence N. 88 degrees 46 minutes 50 seconds W. 164.55 feet along the right-4
of-way for Horseshoe Drive to a one half inch iron rod; proceed thence S 88 degrees5
54 minutes 54 seconds W a distance of 90.28 feet along the right-of-way of6
Horseshoe Drive to a one half inch rod, proceed thence along a curve to the right7
having a radius of 1,382.39 feet, a chord of N. 87 degrees 58 minutes 36 seconds W.8
152.44' to a one half inch iron rod; proceed thence along the right-of way of9
Horseshoe Drive N. 84 degrees 52 minutes 06 seconds W. a distance of 288.47 feet10
to a one half inch iron rod and corner; Thence proceed n. 29 degrees 05 minutes 1411
seconds E. a distance of 889.57 feet to a one half inch iron rod and corner; thence12
proceed S. 60 degrees 40 minutes 46 seconds E. a distance of 622.89 to the westerly13
edge of the right-of-way of U.S. Highway 165 to a point and corner; thence S. 2914
degrees 05 minutes 14 seconds W. 578.26' feet back to the northern right-of-way of15
Horseshoe Drive and the POINT OF BEGINNING.16

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not18
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature19
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If20
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become21
effective on the day following such approval.22
