BY REPRESENTATIVE GALLOT AND SENATOR WALSWORTH
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor of Haynesville
upon the celebration of their 60
th
 wedding anniversary
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor of Haynesville upon the celebration2
of their sixtieth wedding anniversary.3
WHEREAS, upon the occasion of their sixtieth wedding anniversary on June 16,4
2011, it is appropriate to recognize and commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor;5
and6
WHEREAS, James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor were married on June 16,7
1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana; and8
WHEREAS,  Mr. Taylor graduated from Atlanta High School, in Atlanta, Arkansas,9
and Mrs. Taylor attended school nearby;  after they got married, they spent ten years living10
at #4 Sawmill on the Louisiana/Arkansas state line, four years in Haynesville, and four years11
in Shreveport, and they ultimately made their permanent home in Haynesville, where they12
have lived since 1952; and13
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor share a host of accomplishments, but none has14
produced a greater sense of pride than their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren;15
and16
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor recently enjoyed a reception in their honor hosted17
by their daughters, Patty Pesnell and her husband Danny and Deena Burch and her husband18
Brad; their grandchildren, Kristy Campbell and her husband Luke, Dan Pesnell and his wife19
Amanda, Taylor Burch, Ashton Burch, and Amanda Burch; and their great-grandchildren,20

WHEREAS, this special couple's commitment to each other is a beautiful example1
of lifelong love and devotion that is an inspiration to their entire community, and they have2
touched the lives of all who know and love them; and3
WHEREAS, the diamond wedding anniversary of the Taylors is a joyous and4
memorable occasion that merits sincere congratulations.5
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the6
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor7
of Haynesville upon the celebration of their sixtieth wedding anniversary, does hereby8
express enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor they bring to their family,9
friends, community, and state, and does hereby extend very best wishes to this wonderful10
couple for continued happiness and richest blessings as they enjoy their future years11
together.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted13
to James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor.14
