COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Lady Panthers gymnastics team of Catholic High
School in New Iberia for winning the 2011 state championship
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Catholic High School Lady Panthers gymnastics team upon winning the2
2011 state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers gymnastics team of Catholic High School in New4
Iberia completed a sensational season on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the state championship5
meet at Baton Rouge Magnet High School; and6
WHEREAS, this thrilling victory was the culmination of another unforgettable7
season for the Lady Panthers of Catholic High School (CHS); and8
WHEREAS, the Division II team clinched the team's exciting overall win with an9
exceptional finish in the uneven bars routine, with Allison Talley placing first with a 9.7510
score, Kristynn LeLeux finishing with a 9.5 score, and Linzee LeJeune earning a 9.3 score;11
and12
WHEREAS, CHS won the Division II championship with Allison Talley, Kristynn13
LeLeux, Linzee LeJeune, Riece LeBlanc, and Chloe Colwart competing; and14
WHEREAS, Morgann LeLeux, who medaled in all events, finished as the state15
individual runner-up in Division I, winning the floor exercise with a phenomenal 9.9 score;16
she and Haley Miller competed on the Division I team and brought home a third-place finish17

WHEREAS, the Division III team, including Remi LeBlanc, Courtney LeBlanc,1
Tiffany LeBlanc, Cameron Thornton, and Candace Guilbeau, also performed well, finishing2
fourth; and 3
WHEREAS, these CHS athletes competed at the highest level of excellence4
throughout the season, and each of these great gymnasts deserves recognition for her vital5
contributions to the winning effort; and6
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the gymnastics team could not have7
been achieved without the guidance and skills of head coach Shane LeLeux and all of the8
other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's gymnastics program;9
and 10
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady11
Panthers, and all Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and12
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, to the New Iberia community, and to13
the state of Louisiana.14
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby15
commend the Lady Panthers gymnastics team of Catholic High School in New Iberia upon16
winning the 2011 state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the gymnasts,17
head coach, and everyone involved with this fine gymnastics program as they celebrate their18
superb season and prepare for continued success in the future.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted20
to Coach Shane LeLeux.21
