Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Provides for the emergency suspension of permits issued by
the office of alcohol and tobacco control. (8/15/11)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 26:93(E) and 290(E), relative to the alcoholic beverage control law; to provide2
for suspension of permits; to provide for emergency procedure; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 26:93(E) and 290(E) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
§93.  Procedure for suspending or revoking permit 7
The procedure for the suspension or revocation of permits shall be8
substantially as follows: 9

E. In accordance with the provisions of R.S. 49:961(C), the11
commissioner may order a summary suspension of a permit.12

§290.  Procedure for suspending or revoking permit 14
The suspension or revocation of a permit shall be brought about in the15
following manner:16

E. In accordance with the provisions of R.S. 49:961(C), the1

Present law provides for a procedure for suspending or revoking permits for dealers in
beverages of high alcoholic content or low alcoholic content. 
Proposed law retains present law and creates a mechanism for the emergency suspension of
permits for dealers in beverages of high alcoholic content or low alcoholic content.
Effective August 15, 2011.
