LOCAL EMPLOYEES. Increases the amount of per diem for members of the board of
supervisors of Sewerage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish. (8/15/11)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:3887.5, relative to Sewerage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish; to authorize2
an increase in the amount of per diem paid to members of the board of supervisors;3
and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:3887.5 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง3887.5. Rapides Parish Sewerage District No. 1; supervising board; per diem8
Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:3887, 3887.1, or any other law9
to the contrary, the parish governing authority of Rapides Parish may pay to10
each member of the board of supervisors of Sewerage District No. 1 a per diem11
not to exceed one hundred fifty dollars for each day of attendance at meetings12
of the board up to and including twenty-four days in each year. The governing13
authority of Rapides Parish may also pay each member a per diem for14
attendance of up to and including twelve emergency meetings of the board of15
supervisors called in any one calendar year. Per diem provided by this Section16
shall be paid out of the designated funds in the hands of the treasurer.17 SB NO. 19

Present law provides that the parish governing authority of Rapides Parish may pay a per
diem to each member of the board of supervisors in an amount not to exceed $90 for each
day of attendance at meetings of the board up to and including 24 days in each year.
Proposed law retains present law but increases the amount of per diem from $90 to $150 for
members of the board of supervisors of Sewerage District No. 1.
Effective August 15, 2011.
