ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. Provides relative to the powers of plaza special districts.

AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:9039(4), relative to special taxing districts; to remove sales tax authority2
for plaza districts; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1.  R.S. 33:9039(4) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5
ยง9039. Boards of commissioners of certain districts; authority6
Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, for a plaza district created in this7

(4) The district shall not have the power to levy any additional sales tax.10
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not11
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature12
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If13
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become14
effective on the day following such approval.15 SB NO. 237
