SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 42
BY SENATOR LONG AND REPRESENTATIVE NOWLIN
COMMENDATIONS. Commends St. Mary's High School of Natchitoches baseball team
for winning the 2011 Class 1A State Championship.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the St. Mary's High School of Natchitoches baseball team for winning the2
2011 Class 1A State Championship.3
WHEREAS, St. Mary's High School of Natchitoches baseball team completed a4
championship season with a record of twenty-eight wins and only five loses; and5
WHEREAS, the St. Mary's High School baseball team completed the magical season6
with a twenty-three to zero victory in the Class 1A state championship game; and7
WHEREAS, the Tigers' 2011 season also includes the District 3-1A district8
championship; and 9
WHEREAS, each member of the team deserves a special recognition for his10
contributions and for performing at such a high level of excellence throughout the 201111
baseball season; and12
WHEREAS, the St. Mary's High School baseball team members are Roger Bailes,13
William Breland, Justin Fredieu, John Gallien, Logan Kyzar, John-William Methvin, Logan14
Ohnoutka, William Townsend, Regan Kaufman, Johnny Ledet, Steele Merritt, Ryan15
Metoyer, Sloan Dieter, Mark Gallien, Brandon Kelly, Quinten Rutledge, Nick Takes, Seth16
Welch, Grant Ingram, Jake LaCaze, Trevor Metoyer, Jacob Murchison, Tyler Roberts,17
Hunter Bedgood, James Carney, and Tyler McCain; and18 SCR NO. 42

WHEREAS, the team support staff included manager, Cole Sarpy, and trainers,1
Hannah Deen and Abbey Martin; and2
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved without3
the leadership, dedication, and instruction of head coach, Jeramie Hale, and assistant4
coaches, Dennis Breland and Brian Ohnoutka; and5
WHEREAS, the baseball team upholds the traditions and the championship spirit of6
St. Mary's High School and makes all the citizens of Natchitoches and Natchitoches Parish,7
and particularly the St. Mary's High School students, staff, alumni, and fans, proud.8
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby9
commend the St. Mary's High School of Natchitoches baseball team for winning the 201110
Class 1A State Championship.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to St.12
Mary's High School Principal, Alan Powers.13
