SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 74
BY SENATOR MILLS AND REPRESENTATIVE MONTOUCET
COMMENDATIONS. Commends Mrs. LouAnn Gerard, Director of Patient Relations at
LSU University Medical Center, on the occasion of her retirement.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Mrs. LouAnn Gerard, Director of Patient Relations at LSU University Medical2
Center, on the occasion of her retirement.3
WHEREAS, LouAnn Gerard is retiring from the LSU University Medical Center4
after nineteen years of exemplary service; and 5
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard began her career with LSU University Medical Center as6
a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room and later became an RN House Supervisor; and7
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard retires as Director of Patient Relations and in this position8
she has provided individualized care and service to thousands of Louisiana citizens in the9
pursuit of access to care; and 10
WHEREAS, in addition to direct patient care, Mrs. Gerard has provided comfort and11
support to the families of LSU University Medical Center patients as they navigated the12
often complicated public health care delivery system; and 13
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard contributed her time and effort to the development of the14
system-wide Patient Advocate program in all LSU hospitals through her mentorship and15
resource for new patient advocates; and 16
WHEREAS, throughout her career in public service Mrs. Gerard has conducted 17
herself with a level of kindness, sincerity, and competence rarely encountered in today's18 SCR NO. 74

business world; and 1
WHEREAS, the staff and faculty of LSU University Medical Center have extended2
their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Gerard for her many years of dedicated and loyal3
service; and4
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard merits the highest commendation and sincerest5
congratulations for her exemplary dedication to public service in the state of Louisiana. 6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby7
commend and congratulate Mrs. LouAnn Gerard for her remarkable public service career8
and does hereby express its appreciation for her many years of compassionate service to the9
patients, families, staff, and faculty of the LSU University Medical Center. 10
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that best wishes are hereby extended for success and11
happiness in all her future endeavors. 12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Mrs.13
LouAnn Gerard. 14
