SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 74
BY SENATOR MILLS AND REPRESENTATIVE MONTOUCET 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Mrs. LouAnn Gerard, Director of Patient Relations at LSU University Medical
Center, on the occasion of her retirement.
WHEREAS, LouAnn Gerard is retiring from the LSU University Medical Center
after nineteen years of exemplary service; and 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard began her career with LSU University Medical Center as
a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room and later became an RN House Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard retires as Director of Patient Relations and in this position
she has provided individualized care and service to thousands of Louisiana citizens in the
pursuit of access to care; and 
WHEREAS, in addition to direct patient care, Mrs. Gerard has provided comfort and
support to the families of LSU University Medical Center patients as they navigated the
often complicated public health care delivery system; and 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard contributed her time and effort to the development of the
system-wide Patient Advocate program in all LSU hospitals through her mentorship and
resource for new patient advocates; and 
WHEREAS, throughout her career in public service Mrs. Gerard has conducted 
herself with a level of kindness, sincerity, and competence rarely encountered in today's
business world; and 
WHEREAS, the staff and faculty of LSU University Medical Center have extended
their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Gerard for her many years of dedicated and loyal
service; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gerard merits the highest commendation and sincerest
congratulations for her exemplary dedication to public service in the state of Louisiana.  SCR NO. 74	ENROLLED

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Mrs. LouAnn Gerard for her remarkable public service career
and does hereby express its appreciation for her many years of compassionate service to the
patients, families, staff, and faculty of the LSU University Medical Center. 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that best wishes are hereby extended for success and
happiness in all her future endeavors. 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Mrs.
LouAnn Gerard.
