SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 115

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the River Region Caucus and its member parishes for
their cooperative efforts toward improving the quality of life in the river region.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the River Region Caucus and its member parishes for their cooperative efforts2
toward improving the quality of life in the river region.3
WHEREAS, formed in 1998, the River Region Caucus (RRC) is comprised of the4
governing bodies of Ascension, St. Charles, St. James, and St. John the Baptist parishes; and5
WHEREAS, the mission of the caucus is to seek regional cooperation among the four6
participating parishes on various issues and to work together as a regional alliance to solve7
common problems; and8
WHEREAS, because the region shares similar challenges and values and because the9
parishes are a part of the same economic region, the caucus has several collective goals,10
including increasing awareness for state policy and decision makers on issues related to11
infrastructure improvements, transportation and safety, traffic management, community12
development, environmental planning, and economic development; working cooperatively13
to maximize their images, services, and communities; improving the quality of life for their14
citizens through better communication; identifying and planning opportunities to promote15
and advance the culture and interests of the river region; and increasing awareness of and16
educating the public and statewide decision makers about the region; and17
WHEREAS, the River Region Caucus merits a special measure of commendation for18 SR NO. 115

its significant contributions toward meeting the needs of the citizens of Ascension, St.1
Charles, St. James, and St. John the Baptist parishes and for the pride and honor it brings to2
the river region and to the state of Louisiana.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana4
does hereby commend the River Region Caucus and its member parishes for their5
cooperative efforts toward improving the quality of life in the river region.6
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the7
River Region Caucus.8
