CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences upon the death of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams
Dunbar.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2
death of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams Dunbar, mother-in-law of Senate attorney3
Michael Bell.4
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana5
has learned of the passing of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-Dunbar, age seventy-eight, of6
Prairieville, Louisiana, on Sunday, June 12, 2011; and7
WHEREAS, Virginia Williams was born in Woodville, Mississippi, and lived in8
New Orleans for fifty-two years before moving to Prairieville in 2002; and 9
WHEREAS, she was the devoted wife of the late William F. Dunbar; and10
WHEREAS, Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-Dunbar is survived by her daughters,11
Wanda D. Bell and her husband, Michael, Annette Miles, Linda D. Tatum and her husband,12
John, Shirley D. Triche and her husband, Maurice, and Daisy Chatman; a son, Willie James13
Dunbar; an uncle, Henry Armstrong; a sister, Susie W. Smith; two brothers, Jeff Williams14
and his wife, Louise, and Robert Williams and his wife, Etter Dean; seven sisters-in-law;15
two brothers-in-law; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces,16
nephews, other relatives and friends; and17
WHEREAS, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-18 SR NO. 117

grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend; and1
WHEREAS, while her death leaves a void with her family and friends, her memory2
shall forever remain alive in theirs minds and hearts.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana4
does hereby express sincere condolences to the family of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-5
Dunbar on the occasion of her death.6
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to7
Michael Bell.8
