Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2011 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 117 BY SENATOR DORSEY A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-Dunbar, mother-in-law of Senate attorney Michael Bell. WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-Dunbar, age seventy-eight, of Prairieville, Louisiana, on Sunday, June 12, 2011; and WHEREAS, Virginia Williams was born in Woodville, Mississippi, and lived in New Orleans for fifty-two years before moving to Prairieville in 2002; and WHEREAS, she was the devoted wife of the late William F. Dunbar; and WHEREAS, Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams-Dunbar is survived by her daughters, Wanda D. Bell and her husband, Michael, Annette Miles, Linda D. Tatum and her husband, John, Shirley D. Triche and her husband, Maurice, and Daisy Chatman; a son, Willie James Dunbar; an uncle, Henry Armstrong; a sister, Susie W. Smith; two brothers, Jeff Williams and his wife, Louise, and Robert Williams and his wife, Etter Dean; seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and WHEREAS, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend; and WHEREAS, while her death leaves a void with her family and friends, her memory shall forever remain alive in their minds and hearts. SR NO. 117 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere condolences to the family of Virginia "Sistergirl" Williams- Dunbar on the occasion of her death.
