SENATE. Recognizes Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day
in the state of Louisiana and commends the Young Deomcrats of Louisiana for its manifold
contributions to the state throughout its long and illustrious history.
A RESOLUTION1
To recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day in the state2
of Louisiana and to commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana for its manifold3
contributions to the state of Louisiana throughout its long and illustrious history.4
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana and5
to recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day in the state6
of Louisiana; and7
WHEREAS, the Young Democrats of Louisiana's mission is to bring young people8
into the democratic process and engage them with educationally stimulating activities; and9
WHEREAS, the Young Democrats of Louisiana's purpose is recruiting new10
Democrats and registering them to vote; and11
WHEREAS, the organization has a long history of training Young Democrats to be12
effective campaign volunteers and field workers; and13
WHEREAS, Young Democrats of Louisiana believe in educating young voters on14
the issues that matter to them; and15
WHEREAS, the organization has thrived in leading campaign invasions to help16
Democrats win elections; and17
WHEREAS, encouraging and assisting young people to run for elected office is a18 SR NO. 145

Young Democrats of Louisiana strong point; and1
WHEREAS, Young Democrats of Louisiana have consistently communicated the2
Democratic message to young voters using the Internet, email, and web blogs.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana4
does hereby recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day5
and does hereby commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana for its manifold contributions6
to the state of Louisiana throughout its long and illustrious history.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the8
Young Democrats of Louisiana.9
