SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 152
BY SENATOR ERDEY 
CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences upon the death of Rhett Jeansonne, a fraud
investigator with the Louisiana Department of Insurance, who was killed in the line of duty
on June 7, 2011.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2
death of Rhett Jeansonne.3
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the citizens of the state of Louisiana have4
learned of the death of Rhett Jeansonne, a resident of Denham Springs, at the age of thirty-5
nine, on June 7, 2011; and6
WHEREAS, Rhett was employed as an insurance fraud investigator with the7
Louisiana Department of Insurance since November 2006; and8
WHEREAS, he also served for the past twenty-two years as a volunteer firefighter9
in Livingston Parish in Districts 4 and 5, and attained the rank of captain with District 5; and10
WHEREAS, he held a national Emergency Medical Services certification, a11
Firefighter and Emergency Responder certification, and an Emergency Medical Technician12
certification; and13
WHEREAS, he was a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic,14
as well as an American Heart Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certified instructor; and15
WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife, Bernadette S. Jeansonne; a daughter, Sharon16
Jeansonne; two sons, Kristopher and Kale Jeansonne; and his father and stepmother, Robert17
and Pat Jeansonne; and18 SR NO. 152

WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry B. Jeansonne, and his1
grandparents, Davis and Hellen Jeansonne; and2
WHEREAS, because of his numerous accomplishments in public and private live,3
the death of Rhett Jeansonne has left a void in his community and the state of Louisiana, and4
has created a genuine sense of profound sorrow in his friends and family; and5
WHEREAS, the memory of Rhett Jeansonne will remain eternal in the hearts and6
minds of his family, friends, and all of those whose lives he touched and who loved him.7
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana8
does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the untimely death of Rhett9
Jeansonne, and does hereby recognize and record for posterity his accomplishments and10
contributions, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation and gratitude for the pride and11
honor that he will forever bring to his family, friends, community, and the state of Louisiana.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the13
family of Rhett Jeansonne.14
