SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 49
BY SENATOR MARIONNEAUX 
CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences upon the death of Louisiana National Guard
Sergeant Micah David.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the2
family of Louisiana National Guard Sergeant Micah David upon his untimely death3
after battling cancer, and for his brave and faithful service to our state and nation4
during our Global War on Terrorism.5
WHEREAS, Sergeant David was born on December 30, 1985, in Monroe, Louisiana,6
and resided in Olla, Louisiana; and 7
WHEREAS, his favorite hobbies included fishing and gun collecting; and 8
WHEREAS, Sergeant David was a brave and dedicated soldier active in the9
Louisiana National Guard and volunteered for service overseas in support of Operation10
Enduring Freedom; and11
WHEREAS, Sergeant David received numerous awards for his bravery and service,12
which included the coveted Combat Action Badge; and13
WHEREAS, he was proud to serve his country in defense of our freedoms, and our14
state and nation will keep his memory alive and burning bright; and15
WHEREAS, Sergeant David lost his battle with cancer on December 5, 2010, in Olla,16
Louisiana; and 17
WHEREAS, before his short time on earth was through he brought joy to many18 SR NO. 49

people, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Lacey,1
son, Hayden, his parents, Donna and Mike, along with his sisters, brother, and extended2
family, military family, and friends; and 3
WHEREAS, Sergeant David will always be remembered as an American hero, an4
amazing husband, father, soldier, and friend.5
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana6
does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to the family of Louisiana7
National Guard Sergeant Micah David upon his tragic and untimely death after bravely8
battling cancer, and for his brave and faithful service to our state and nation during9
Operation Enduring Freedom.10
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the11
family of Sergeant Micah David.12
