SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 85
BY SENATOR ERDEY 
A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Glenn and Rose Sibley of Livingston, Louisiana, upon the
celebration of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary.
WHEREAS, Glenn Sibley and Rose Harrell were joined in holy matrimony on
June 10, 1961, at the First Baptist Church of Livingston, and for fifty years, they have shared
a vast number of memories and milestones, always together; and
WHEREAS, the Sibleys fondly remember that fateful day they first met at Sibley and
Watts Automotive; she had a flat tire and he mustered up the courage to talk to her; thus
began a romance that has withstood the test of time; and
WHEREAS, Glenn and Rose have lived all of their married life in Livingston and
still live in the home they built in 1967; both working and contributing to the betterment of
their community; and
WHEREAS, among their successful achievements, Mr. and Mrs. Sibley take the most
pride in their three sons, Richard Todd, Eddie Glenn, and Daniel Eric, one daughter,
Media Shon (Dee Dee), their nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, they encouraged their family members to always do their best, Glenn
and Rose faithfully attended school functions, athletic events, and recreational outings like
hunting and fishing; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Sibley is a former mechanic and retired millwright associated
with Millwright Local No. 720; and
WHEREAS, along with being a full-time mother and wife, Rose worked in retail
sales, served in both the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office,
and performed six years of public service as a member of the parish council on aging; and
WHEREAS, Glenn and Rose Sibley have extensive ties to family and friends

WHEREAS, the Sibleys are active members of the Beech Ridge Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Glenn and Rose Sibley is a joyous
and auspicious occasion that merits sincere congratulations and best wishes and their
commitment to each other is a beautiful illustration of lifelong love and devotion, that
endures as an inspiration to all.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Glenn and Rose Sibley upon celebration of their fiftieth wedding
anniversary and does hereby express enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and
honor they bring to their family, friends, community, and the state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does
hereby extend very best wishes to this wonderful couple for continued happiness and good
health as they enjoy their future years together.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sibley.
