HOUSE BILL NO. 111
BY REPRESENTATIVE GUILLORY
PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Authorizes the transfer of state land to the city of Eunice
AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer2
of certain state property in St. Landry Parish; to provide for the property description;3
to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to4
provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals, notwithstanding7
any other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey,8
transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have9
to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property to the city of Eunice:10
A certain tract or parcel of land; containing 11.1 acres, more or less, situated11
in the southwest part of the Town of Eunice, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, being12
more particularly described as beginning at a point N 0 degrees 08' West, 50 feet and13
N 89 degrees, 14' East, 60 feet from the southwest corner of Lot 8 of a map of14
subdivision made for Heirs of Eloi Guillory, dated August 24, 1958, signed by15
Lindsay J. Aucoin, Civil Engineer, thence from said point of beginning N 0 degrees16
8' West 798 feet, then N 0 degrees 27' West, 489.17 feet to Ash Avenue, thence N17
89 degrees 14' East, 329.8 feet, thence south along a projection of the East line of18
Jake Avenue, 757.78 feet, thence East parallel to the south line of Block 12 of the19
Suzanne Guillory Addition "B", 460 feet, thence southwesterly 960 feet, more or less20
to point of beginning; and being bounded as follows: North by Ash Avenue and St.21
Anthony Catholic church, southwest by City of Eunice Right of Way adjacent to22
drainage canal, East by St. Anthony Catholic Church, and West by East line of John23
Street and/or the East Right of Way of Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corp., being24
that property acquired from The Society of the Roman Catholic church of the25
Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana by Act of Donation dated April 9th, 1970, which is26
duly recorded as original Act No. 547776 in the records of the Clerk of Court of St.27

Section 2.  The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals is hereby1
authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to2
execute such documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer,3
assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in4
Section 1, and as more specifically described in any such agreements entered into and5
documents executed by and between the secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals6
and the city of Eunice, in exchange of consideration proportionate to the appraised value of7
the property.8
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not9
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature10
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If11
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become12
effective on the day following such approval.13
