Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE BILL NO. 162 BY REPRESENTATIVE GISCLAIR AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:301, relative to motor vehicles; to provide that lighted lamps2 are required to be used while driving through a tunnel; and to provide for related3 matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 32:301 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง301. When lighted lamps are required7 A. Every vehicle upon a highway within this state shall display lighted lamps8 and illuminating devices as hereinafter respectively required for different classes of9 vehicles subject to exception with respect to parked vehicles at any of the following10 times:11 (1) At any time between sunset and sunrise.12 (2) When, due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions,13 persons and vehicles on the highway are not clearly discernable at a distance of five14 hundred feet ahead.15 (3) When moisture in the air or precipitation necessitates the continuous use16 of windshield wipers.17 (4) While driving in a tunnel.18 ENROLLEDHB NO. 162 Page 2 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions. B. Any person found in violation of this Paragraph Subsection A of this1 Section may be fined not more than twenty-five dollars. No court costs shall be2 assessed in addition to the fine authorized by this Paragraph this Section.
