AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 14:95.7(C), relative to the crime of possession or dealing in2
firearms with obliterated identification marks or serial numbers; to provide for3
increased penalties; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 14:95.7(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6
ยง95.7. Possession of or dealing in firearms with obliterated number numbers or7
mark marks 8

C. Whoever violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined not more10
than one thousand dollars and may be imprisoned for not more than six months.11

(1) For a first offense, the penalty shall be imprisonment, with or without13
hard labor, for not less than one year nor more than five years.14
(2) For a second or subsequent offense, the penalty shall be imprisonment,15
with or without hard labor, for not less than two years nor more than ten years.16
