AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 48:252(C)(1), relative to the advertisement of public bids; to2
reduce the time period within which the Department of Transportation and3
Development can issue any addenda; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 48:252(C)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง252. Advertisement for bids; public presentment and reading of bids; fee for bid7

C.(1) The department shall not issue or cause to be issued any addenda10
materially modifying plans and specifications within a period of ninety-six seventy-11
two hours prior to the advertised time for the opening of bids, excluding Saturdays,12
Sundays, and any other legal holidays; however, if the necessity arises to issue an13
addendum materially modifying the plans or specifications within the14
ninety-six-hour seventy-two-hour period prior to the advertised time for opening15
bids, then the opening of bids shall be extended at least seven days, but not more16 ENROLLEDHB NO. 422

than thirty-five days without the requirement of re-advertising. The department,1
through the issuance of an addendum prior to the scheduled time for bid opening,2
may extend the bid period for up to thirty-five days, without re-advertising.3
