AN ACT1
To amend and reenact Code of Civil Procedure Article 42(4), relative to venue of foreign2
corporations and limited liability companies; to provide for venue in certain parishes;3
and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. Code of Civil Procedure Article 42(4) is hereby amended and reenacted6
to read as follows: 7
Art. 42. General rules8
The general rules of venue are that an action against:9

(4) A foreign corporation or foreign limited liability company licensed to do11
business in this state shall be brought in the parish where its primary business office12
principal business establishment is located as designated in its application to do13
business in the state, or, if no such designation is made, then in the parish where its14
primary place of business in the state is located.15
