AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 32:863.2(B), relative to notification of the cancellation or2
issuance of security; to provide relative to security provider late fees; to authorize the3
deputy secretary of public safety services of the Department of Public Safety and4
Corrections to waive the fee in certain circumstances; and to provide for related5
matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1.  R.S. 32:863.2(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8

B. When a security provider does not provide the secretary deputy secretary12
of public safety services of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections with the13
information required by this Section within the time limits set forth in this Section,14
the insurance company, sales representative or agent, state treasurer, or other15
provider shall pay a late fee of not more than fifty dollars per policy, bond, or16
deposit, or other security item concerning which information is not supplied. If the17
security provider has reported this information for a policy, bond, deposit, or other18
security item for a commercial motor vehicle in an untimely manner, the deputy19
secretary shall impose the late fee unless the deputy secretary determines that the20
security provider made a good faith effort to comply with these requirements but the21

collected under this Subsection shall be deposited in the Bond Security and1
Redemption Fund as provided in R.S. 32:853(B)(2).2
