Ligi	HB No. 81
Abstract: Specifies that three members of the La. Motor Vehicle Commission shall each
be engaged primarily in the business of marine product sales, motorcycle sales, and
recreational vehicle sales.
Present law provides for 18 members of the La. Motor Vehicle Commission, 14 from
commission districts providing for geographic representation throughout the state, subject
to Senate confirmation. Requires, from these 14 members, one member to be primarily
engaged in the business of lease or rental, one member primarily engaged in the business of
sales finance, one member to be primarily engaged in the business of heavy truck sales, and
three members to be primarily engaged in the business of recreational products.
Proposed law retains present law except changes three members from being primarily
engaged in the business of recreational products to one member primarily engaged in the
business of marine product sales, one member primarily engaged in the business of
motorcycle sales, and one member primarily engaged in the business of recreational vehicle
sales.
