Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE BILL NO. 826 BY REPRESENTATIVE HAZEL CRIMINAL/RECORDS: Makes a technical correction to the provision regarding the expungement or destruction of arrest and prosecution records of a sex offender AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 44:9(E)(2), relative to arrest and prosecution records; to make2 a technical correction to the provision regarding the expungement of arrest and3 prosecution records of sex offenders; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 44:9(E)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง9. Records of violations of municipal ordinances and of state statutes classified as7 a misdemeanor or felony8 * * *9 E.10 * * *11 (2) No court shall order the expungement or destruction of any record of the12 arrest and prosecution of any person convicted of a sex offense as defined by R.S.13 15:541(14.1), 15:541, involving a child under the age of seventeen years.
